Why Wear a Dog T-Shirt?

Did you know that wearing a Tee Shirt can help to ease scratching and biting caused by itchy skin conditions for a dog? They help to protect body wounds after operations and can cut out the need to wear a bucket collar. That sounds good - they just hate those collars!

Dog t-shirts are good for elderly or poorly dogs to wear indoors without the hassle of buckles and zips. They keep thin coated dogs warm and help show coats stay clean and have also been known to help dogs feel more secure during fireworks! (I wonder if it helps them calm down when owls hoot too??? Might need to do a bit of personal research here....I'll report back)

Did you know you can now get tutus and bikinis for dogs?

There was a time when pets didn't really have accessories.  I was brought up on a farm with 2 dogs and 3 cats. The only thing the cats possessed was a sunny window cill to sleep on in the day and the dogs had a collar  - just a plain kind of collar and no ID tag (well, there was no need as everyone knew Lolly and Candy in the village)

I have been totally flabbergasted at the immense range of pet accessories now available - it's a whole new world which I didn't even know existed until coming into this business a month or so ago. So this old fogey (aka puppy grandma) has had to rethink everything dog and cat related.

Over the coming months I will be sharing with you my thoughts on everything from dog coats to comfy cradles for cats and I have to admit I have surprised myself by becoming very fond of some of these pet accessories:-) Some make perfect sense from a safety point of view or for additional pet comfort and some are pure luxuries (and why not!) for our canine and feline family members.

Take this cat cradle for a radiator. I said our cats would sleep on a sunny window cill. How many homes have window cills wide enough to sit a cat? But most have radiators - the next best thing, haha!

And I mentioned dog coats earlier - little dogs get cold easily as can old or sick dogs - why not give them a bit of comfort for their walkies - something to keep them warm and dry in our British weather, just as we would our human family members?

Puppy grandma became so besotted with her litter of cocker spaniel puppies that when a small pet accessories business came on the market while she was helping mum rear these little beauties, she bought it. It was a sign! This is what would keep her busy once her tiny charges had left home.

So puppy grandma is now busy getting accustomed to her stock (she has never seen so many dog and cat collars in all her life) and searching high and low to find the most most gorgeous pet accessories for dog and cat owners.
